OpenAI Unveils Framework for Reporting Model Misalignment
OpenAI introduced a framework for reporting model misalignment incidents, aiming to establish industry standards.
OpenAI has reaffirmed its commitment to Zero Data Retention for eligible API customers, ensuring that their prompts and model responses are not retained after processing. This policy guarantees that customer content is not accessible to OpenAI personnel for review, and enterprise customer data is not used to train models without explicit opt-in.

Eligible API customers benefit from a clear promise: their prompts and model responses are not retained after processing. Customer content remains inaccessible to OpenAI personnel, and enterprise data is not used for model training without explicit consent.
Private Safety Processing is designed to identify patterns across interactions without giving personnel access to the content. This system helps address risks that may only become visible over multiple interactions.
For Zero Data Retention deployments, customer content remains on infrastructure controlled by the customer. OpenAI is also developing an option where content is stored on their infrastructure, encrypted with customer-controlled keys. Automated systems can identify potential misuse and return limited safety signals without exposing prompts or responses to personnel.
