This Humanoid Robot Is a Terrifyingly Competent Office Intern
Swiss startup Flexion Robotics has developed a simulation-first training method that allows humanoid robots to autonomously perform complex office chores.

Clouted, a startup building automated infrastructure for short-form video clipping and social media distribution, has raised a $7 million seed funding round led by Slow Ventures. The company aims to solve the operational bottlenecks that brands and creators face when trying to turn long-form content into viral social media hits.
The platform, which graduated from Andreessen Horowitz’s Speedrun accelerator in 2024, coordinates both the human logistics of video editing and the algorithmic strategy of distribution. By combining a massive gig-worker network with machine learning, Clouted attempts to take the manual guesswork out of social media marketing.
As platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts dominate consumer attention, brands have increasingly turned to short-form video as a cost-effective marketing tool. This shift has created a booming demand for "clipping"—the process of extracting the most engaging 30-to-90-second segments from podcasts, music videos, and films.
Typically, brands and marketing agencies outsource this work to independent creators. However, managing hundreds of freelance editors presents a massive logistical challenge.
The startup currently taps into a network of over 100,000 gig creators who handle the actual video editing. By centralizing the assignment, communication, and payment workflows, the platform allows brands to scale their short-form content production without expanding their internal marketing teams.
Finding the right clip is only half the battle; distributing it effectively presents its own hurdles. Clouted uses machine learning algorithms to analyze edited clips and determine which social media platforms and target audiences offer the highest probability of virality.
This automated strategy removes the trial-and-error process that usually defines social media campaigns. Instead of guessing where a specific clip will perform best, creators and brands rely on Clouted's data-driven recommendations to optimize their distribution pipeline.
The inspiration for Clouted came from co-founder and CEO Justin Banusing’s personal experience in the music industry. As a longtime DJ, Banusing initially built and applied the underlying technology to promote &Friends, a Manila-based electronic dance music and pop-culture festival.
After successfully using the platform to scale the festival's audience, Banusing realized the technology had broader applications for the creator economy. The startup's transition from a niche promotional tool to a venture-backed infrastructure platform culminated in the recent $7 million seed round led by Slow Ventures.
Clouted's reliance on automated decision-making reflects a broader industry shift toward functional, background-running AI systems. For years, consumer AI tools operated primarily as chat interfaces that required constant user prompting, often acting more like clueless interns than capable assistants.
That dynamic is shifting as developers build agentic workflows that run continuously in the background. The viral success of open-source platforms like OpenClaw has pushed major tech labs, including Google, to prioritize background agents that handle complex, multi-step planning tasks.
By automating both the logistics of human labor and the analytical decisions of content distribution, platforms like Clouted represent a practical application of this agentic trend, moving AI from simple text generation to active operational management.
